The Cause of Americans Losing Their Job: Obama
President Obama does not realize that he is the reason why many people can no longer voice their opinions for the fear of losing their jobs or being harassed by liberals. One prime example of Obama’s devastating impact on the job-market has been our beloved Lou Dobbs. As you may well know, he is no longer with CNN. He abruptly resigned last week from his show on CNN stating that he could no longer operate with management constantly pushing for Dobbs to stop voicing his opinion on air.
“You know, I discern more of a difference between then, which was under the Bush administration whom I was criticizing, and now, when it is the Obama administration and an entirely different tone was taken,” Dobbs said. (NYDailyNews.com)
Someone should tell Lou that TV is funny like that. When you are criticizing someone that no one likes people watch and your ratings go up; but if you are criticizing someone that most people like then it’s going to hurt your ratings and your network bosses are not going to be happy about that.
Too bad he wanted to remain consistent in his beliefs and opinions.

as far as bush and the economy, its cyclical. ups and downs happen. downs usually follow when the market is unnaturally high. as was the instance with bush. but everyone blames the president.
as far as the racist card goes, a report on cnn said that 98% of blacks voted for obama, and everyone is ok with that. if 98% of whites had voted for mcain it would have been racist. you know, there is such a thing as reverse racism out there.
Though I partially agree with your arguments, I personally hate the term “reverse racism”. Racism is just that, no matter whether it’s pale skin against dark brown skin, the other way around, blue scales against purple scales or indeed preferring terriers over poodles if we want to be extra literal.
I agree with your sentiment that all politicians fall flat on some of their promises. Anyone who believed that Obama could accomplish everything on his platform either didn’t pay attention in American History at all, or sincerely believed that he was totalitarian. :P
However, just because economies go through ups and downs does not mean this recession can just be written off as another valley in the cycle. It was pretty bad, and could’ve been much better were it not for the practically nonexistent response from the Bush Administration. The only thing that was done while Bush was still around was the flaccid “stimulus package” (see what I did there?)…otherwise he didn’t do shit. So I do think it’s perfectly fair to put a lot of the blame on Bush, though not all of it.
As for the “reverse racism” charge, (which I think is a stupid concept, since it implies that racism is only white vs. black) the majority of African-Americans probably would’ve voted for a Dem regardless of his descent, so pointing out the percentage increase is kinda silly. But I don’t see how it’s racist for the black community to take pride in the first African-American getting elected president. African-Americans have been enslaved, have been roughly lumped into the category of black for the convenience of being discriminated against, and for decades have tried in vain to gain the highest political office in the land. Now we’ve finally done it, and they’re being told they shouldn’t be proud of the fact that they’ve achieved the ultimate social equality?
It may not seem like a lot to a white middle-class person, but if you were black I’m sure you’d have a different perspective on the matter.
I wouldn’t necessary say that Obama is responsible for people losing their jobs, but I can support the fact that the media is quite hesitant to paint our current president and his administration in any light that isn’t positive…
Have you seen Chris Matthews, Kieth Olbermann or Rachel Maddow recently? Sure you can classify them as part of the liberal circuit but one thing that they have done is be openly objective and critical of Obama’s back pedaling on issues ; examples being civilian gay rights, Palestinian/Israeli Peace Agreements, and his lack of presence/leadership during the health care debates when it’s been obvious for many months that bi-partisanship is not going to happen. Also that’s just our media, look at BBC, VOA, or Al-Jazeera and you will see criticism of his policies even if it is (pointedly made) from abroad.
Screw Obama, man. He is NOT going to have another term – he’ll be voted out! It’s Jimmy Carter all over again.

3) Obama didn’t “bow down” to the Saudi king (or the Queen of England, for that matter). He made a respectful bow to an equal, according to the customs of the country.
It’s not just 9-11 that people complain about. It’s the conservative Laissez-faire attitude that is/was the problem. Business and industry was allowed to go unchecked and run amok for the last 8 years. Then it blew up just as he left office. THAT’s the big problem, and THAT’s what we are cleaning up. The war is no longer the big issue, because it is no longer a war, but an occupation. We will be there for duration,and I honestly believe that is NO one’s fault. It had to be done, and now it is.

I’m not sure about the “not just a custom” part of refusing to bow to kings, but from my side of the pond it appears to be a very Republican stance in the most literal way, as it directly rejects the legitimacy of the British royal family’s claim to colonial sovereignty. Of course it may be a time-honoured tradition, but then again so was slavery … and the Japanese emperor certainly deserved a bow for all the shit both he and his father had had to put up with from the US, despite heavily contributing to rebuilding their own economy and foreign relations essentially from scratch, both during and after the occupation. However, I hear from fellow Orientalist historians that Hirohito had indeed been a very selfish bastard who might therefore not have been worthy of such honours.

He did bow, that does not really bother me. He bowed to the Saudi king on April 9th also, that did not bother me. What bothers me is, he did NOT bow to the Queen of England. If he is going to bow to one member of a royal family he should bow to all! His lack of consistency in this matter I find deeply troubling. Even more troubling is the disdain he showed England for returning a bust of Churchill (given to the U.S. by Tony Blair after 9/11).
The big O appears to make choices in favor of ideological stands. Not too mention on almost every international stage he apologizes for the United States actions. That is very disturbing when one considers the positive impact we have had upon the globe for the last 150+ years. People who hate the U.S. will always hate the U.S. Who the President is, is irrelevant.
We are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression (BTW only in the U.S. was it great. Most of the rest of the world was clear long before we were. Roosevelt’s attempts at government controlling the economic issues prolonged the depression by at least a decade), and this administration is concentrating on a social agenda. If the Obama White House were working on fixing our most immediate problems, instead of pushing for health care reform and a climate bill, the conservative base would probably be much quieter in its objections. Of, course some pundits would complain (they always have) but, their voices would be negated by the general populace.
Honestly whoever was going to be president wasn’t going to be very popular…that goes along w/ the job. To blame Obama for all the problems in this country is ridiculous by the same token so many people voted for Obama because they thought that if he were in office everything would be magically fixed…the world doesn’t work like that. Rather than bash Obama we should probably just let him do his job because even the biggest critics of Obama wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.
We could try to let him perform his job, but he doesn’t even do that! He spends most of his time “talking” to the American people…or at least trying to force them to accept something that they do not want! What kind of president is that? He has not accomplished ANYTHING that is noteworthy besides trying to force people to accept a socialistic healthcare! He is wanting to help people get jobs and lower the unemployment rate, but this healthcare he is pushing will only create more lazy people in the US who won’t bother getting their butts off their couches to go look for jobs. if obama could not handle the war he should not have said in a couple of months in office all troops will be home and the war will be over. really. my brother was directly sent to afghan. right after obama was elected and now the war is even worse than before. nothing he said he would do before his 100th day in office has been accomplished. im not a democrat and im not a republican. im also not saying McCain would do any better but atleast he didnt promise things to america that he knew could not be done.

That’s the problem with campaign promises in a highly polarised two-party system like the US currently has, though. Voters are too focused on “us versus them”, and so both candidates are essentially forced to promise the electorate what they would personally consider Heaven on Earth … it’s my considered opinion that if you want honesty and proper debate in American presidential elections, the very first step would have to be to throw out the entire current political system and rewrite the constitution from scratch. Of course, the American people as a whole would never accept such a suggestion, and in the current political climate whatever constitution would come out of it would almost inevitably be a worse compromise than the original, so it remains a utopic pipe dream …
