The Cause of Americans Losing Their Job: Obama

Written by The Sarcasmist on November 17, 2009 - Comments (101)

Lou DobbsPresident Obama does not realize that he is the reason why many people can no longer voice their opinions for the fear of losing their jobs or being harassed by liberals. One prime example of Obama’s devastating impact on the job-market has been our beloved Lou Dobbs. As you may well know, he is no longer with CNN. He abruptly resigned last week from his show on CNN stating that he could no longer operate with management constantly pushing for Dobbs to stop voicing his opinion on air.

“You know, I discern more of a difference between then, which was under the Bush administration whom I was criticizing, and now, when it is the Obama administration and an entirely different tone was taken,” Dobbs said. (NYDailyNews.com)

Someone should tell Lou that TV is funny like that. When you are criticizing someone that no one likes people watch and your ratings go up; but if you are criticizing someone that most people like then it’s going to hurt your ratings and your network bosses are not going to be happy about that.
Too bad he wanted to remain consistent in his beliefs and opinions.

  1. this statement isnt sarcasm
    this is true

    • Honesty…the original sarcasm!

    • jonathan morris

erm…. aren’t Obama’s aproval ratings down the toilet? I guess if you disagree with him you are out. Dobbs disagree’s with a few points that cross administrations. Good for him. CNN is a joke of a network, and the 2012 election will put them where they belong – in the background.

  2. except the last part

  3. Obama’s approval rating have shot down since office, and then even more when he won the nobel peace prize no one LIKES him anymore, this is just racism at its best

    • How dare you say such things? RACIST!

    • I’m black, so in my case I;m not racist. I’m honest :)

    • ;) It’s called sarcasm. Google is a wonderful tool. Try it!

I will spell out the response to you. You sounded dumb in calling everyone that now does not like him (even though they voted for him) racist. Did he get darker? Is that why they are NOW racist but they weren’t beforehand? Then you were called a racist just to show you how stupid you sound.

You can be black and racist. You can be oriental and racist. You can be gay and racist. You can be Jewish and racist. Not only white people are racist. Look deep inside yourself, do you judge people based on their skin tone? Do you pull the race card every time things don’t go your way?

    • Dude, the preferred nomenclature is Asian. Most Asians find that term highly offensive. Kudos on the rest of what you wrote, though. (I’m still not sure I understand what that dildo was even trying to say.)

    • I apologize, as I was not aware. Lesson learned. ;)

    • I understand that it is sarcasm, and I’m not saying that I take this seriously, but I think its racist that Obama gets preferential (don’t think I speled that right) treatment for no OBVIOUS reason cough cough lol

  4. um…..most people i know hate Obama.

    • Thats cuz you and the people you know live in a red state and are red necks. I’m sure you would have loved to see Palin as VP and with McCain being a dinosaur she would eventually be the President. Although I voted Obama I was really rooting for Ron Paul but, I’m still happier we have someone who isnt a retard in office rather than a complete idiot who blames the failure of the McCain/Palin campaign on McCain and on Kate Couric for asking questions.

    • WOW, speaking of racist, Red-neck huh? funny i didnt think anyone had to like the president (regardless of his skin tone), Are all the black folks that didnt like Bush racist too??? FYI i am white and i dont like GW either.

    • Dinosaur lover ;)

Speaking of retards, your response was very original! Kudos!

Now, I live in a very, VERY, blue state… aka CA! I know a lot of people that now question their decision in voting for Obama. I personally would have rather had the dinosaur then a puppet. But hey, to each their own. Those people that question their vote are pissed that, so far, he has followed through with nothing he had promised. And now if you anyone calls him on any BS they are considered racist. If the idiot was purple, he’d still be an idiot. PEOPLE ARE ENTILED TO THEIR OPINIONS WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT! Hence the article. You just might get fired for having one now.

I am curious, how are you going to vote for one person, yet root for the other? Doesn’t make sense.

    • anon seriously that whole thing was just an ignorant response.

    • response is still ignorant.

    • I don’t know where all the racist stuff comes from…not to long ago ppl called him an elitist, but it turned out to be campaign rhetoric…I voted for Obama, and given the choices, would do so again in a heartbeat. People complain and people moan, but the truth is I bet half of the opinions formed are based on something they heard (Obama isn’t a citizen, AND a terrorist…. lol) But at this juncture, who cares! He’s the President, and will be for at least three more years. Get over it, and campaign harder next time. My thing is give him the opportunity to do his job! He can’t be worse than Bush, I refuse to believe that…And I don’t want to blame the last admin, but we had a surplus when GW came, and negative and a market crash when he left, I’m just sayin.

    • I dislike your post Anon. All around sounded ignorant, and offensive. Was it necessary to use the word ‘retard’? Highly offensive being that i work with the population. Besides that, Obama hasnt even spent a full year in the office yet and everyone expects him to have already snapped his fingers and worked wonders. Give it time, im not saying he will deffinitly succeed, but at least we gave the last moron 2 shots at it! Give Obama a bit of a break! Mans attempting a lot on top of making history. Just a thought.

    • i gotta say, as far as obama not following up on his promises…DUH MUCH!!! he is a flippin politician. did anyone actually expect him to do half of the things he said he would? all i know is that because of him terrorists are now going to be housed in the continential united states (closure of gitmo), and gov’t money went to foreign auto markets (cash 4 clunkers, most went to foreign automakers).
as far as bush and the economy, its cyclical. ups and downs happen. downs usually follow when the market is unnaturally high. as was the instance with bush. but everyone blames the president.
as far as the racist card goes, a report on cnn said that 98% of blacks voted for obama, and everyone is ok with that. if 98% of whites had voted for mcain it would have been racist. you know, there is such a thing as reverse racism out there.

    • Though I partially agree with your arguments, I personally hate the term “reverse racism”. Racism is just that, no matter whether it’s pale skin against dark brown skin, the other way around, blue scales against purple scales or indeed preferring terriers over poodles if we want to be extra literal.

    • I agree with your sentiment that all politicians fall flat on some of their promises. Anyone who believed that Obama could accomplish everything on his platform either didn’t pay attention in American History at all, or sincerely believed that he was totalitarian. :P

However, just because economies go through ups and downs does not mean this recession can just be written off as another valley in the cycle. It was pretty bad, and could’ve been much better were it not for the practically nonexistent response from the Bush Administration. The only thing that was done while Bush was still around was the flaccid “stimulus package” (see what I did there?)…otherwise he didn’t do shit. So I do think it’s perfectly fair to put a lot of the blame on Bush, though not all of it.

As for the “reverse racism” charge, (which I think is a stupid concept, since it implies that racism is only white vs. black) the majority of African-Americans probably would’ve voted for a Dem regardless of his descent, so pointing out the percentage increase is kinda silly. But I don’t see how it’s racist for the black community to take pride in the first African-American getting elected president. African-Americans have been enslaved, have been roughly lumped into the category of black for the convenience of being discriminated against, and for decades have tried in vain to gain the highest political office in the land. Now we’ve finally done it, and they’re being told they shouldn’t be proud of the fact that they’ve achieved the ultimate social equality?

It may not seem like a lot to a white middle-class person, but if you were black I’m sure you’d have a different perspective on the matter.

  5. I wouldn’t necessary say that Obama is responsible for people losing their jobs, but I can support the fact that the media is quite hesitant to paint our current president and his administration in any light that isn’t positive…

    • Have you seen Chris Matthews, Kieth Olbermann or Rachel Maddow recently? Sure you can classify them as part of the liberal circuit but one thing that they have done is be openly objective and critical of Obama’s back pedaling on issues ; examples being civilian gay rights, Palestinian/Israeli Peace Agreements, and his lack of presence/leadership during the health care debates when it’s been obvious for many months that bi-partisanship is not going to happen. Also that’s just our media, look at BBC, VOA, or Al-Jazeera and you will see criticism of his policies even if it is (pointedly made) from abroad.

  6. Screw Obama, man. He is NOT going to have another term – he’ll be voted out! It’s Jimmy Carter all over again.

    • Are you blaming Obama for our current sitiuation? Really? He’s cleaning up Bush’s mess. We were destined to hit this crisis the second Bush got a second term if not the second he got a first term; Over AL GORE!!!

    • Please stop typing and get an education! K? Thanks.

    • I didn’t like Bush much, but you cant blame him for everything. Open your eyes and see what a screw-up Obama really is.

    • What has he screwed up? Do you all just take your information from Fox news or does anyone read and determine for themselves anymore? Try intelligent thought on the topic and you may find that no politician is golden, at the end of the day they are politicians…they do things according to (dare I say it) politics. Become active in the process and quit crying and moaning about it.

    • In which case you have no right to blame Bush for anything, For what he dealt with in office he’s probably one of the best presidents in History

  7. “After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true. ” Spock said that in Amok Time Star Trek TOS. It is a true today as it was 40 years ago….

  8. he is not cleaning up shit. and why is it bushs mess? hes not the one who decided to run airplanes into the twin towers. hes not the one who threatened america. im sorry he was in office when that happen so ppl blame him for it. he tried doing something about it. obama hasnt done shit for this country except refuse pplz belief, refuse to say our national athem when he suppose to be president of this country, and bow down to kings and not even being a true american.

    • I think it’s only the conspiracy theorists who seriously think bush was to blame for 9/11.

      And concerning Obama:
      1) When has he “refuse pplz belief”?
      2) He has never refused to say the national anthem, he just sometimes doesn’t put his hand over his heart *sarcastic gasp* because that’s just the way he was raised.
      3) Obama didn’t “bow down” to the Saudi king (or the Queen of England, for that matter). He made a respectful bow to an equal, according to the customs of the country.

    • It’s not just 9-11 that people complain about. It’s the conservative Laissez-faire attitude that is/was the problem. Business and industry was allowed to go unchecked and run amok for the last 8 years. Then it blew up just as he left office. THAT’s the big problem, and THAT’s what we are cleaning up. The war is no longer the big issue, because it is no longer a war, but an occupation. We will be there for duration, and I honestly believe that is NO one’s fault. It had to be done, and now it is.

    • Ah, birtherism, religion and “don’t bow to kings”. It’s almost like the Holy Trinity of Republican fundamentalism. Seriously, get a brain. (Though I do agree that Bush is presumably not directly at fault for morons flying passenger planes into buildings.)

    • 1) yes he has refused ppls belief, on prayer day he canceled the christians day of prayer but let the muslims have their day. and waht about the jews prayer day?
      2) before he even was president refused to say the national athem. and if he was raised that way then he isnt an american.
3)it was more than a custom. he bowed

and i am not a republican so dont call me one

    • I do apologise, I’ve just heard that line of argument from too many people who seemed genetically predisposed towards
      1) frothing at the mouth, and
      2) cover their car in “MCCAIN/PALIN 2008″ bumper stickers.
I’m not sure about the “not just a custom” part of refusing to bow to kings, but from my side of the pond it appears to be a very Republican stance in the most literal way, as it directly rejects the legitimacy of the British royal family’s claim to colonial sovereignty. Of course it may be a time-honoured tradition, but then again so was slavery … and the Japanese emperor certainly deserved a bow for all the shit both he and his father had had to put up with from the US, despite heavily contributing to rebuilding their own economy and foreign relations essentially from scratch, both during and after the occupation. However, I hear from fellow Orientalist historians that Hirohito had indeed been a very selfish bastard who might therefore not have been worthy of such honours.

    • Meeko:
      1) I haven’t heard anything about Obama doing that. And if he were refusing people’s (note the correct spelling) beliefs, why would he cancel the Christian prayer day and keep the Muslim one? He is a Christian, NOT a Muslim! And I believe that has been officially stated and proven multiple times.
      2) As I said before, Obama never refused to say the national anthem. He just doesn’t always put his hand over his heart during the anthem. And you’re saying that, even though he was born and raised in the United States, he isn’t an American simply because his grandfather taught him that “during the Pledge of Allegiance you put your hand over your heart. During the National Anthem, you sing.” And, even when he doesn’t put his hand over his heart, he still stands respectfully with his hands clasped at his waist. He is not disrespecting America or the flag.
      3) I’m not saying Obama didn’t bow (if you read my original comment, I said he didn’t “bow down,” which has a completely different connotation). I’m saying the bow he gave was respectful and in no way submissive or subservient. It was a bow fitting for a meeting between two equals.

    • @ chrayes, in RE: 3) I’m not saying Obama didn’t bow (if you read my original comment, I said he didn’t “bow down,” which has a completely different connotation). I’m saying the bow he gave was respectful and in no way submissive or subservient. It was a bow fitting for a meeting between two equals.

He did bow, that does not really bother me. He bowed to the Saudi king on April 9th also, that did not bother me. What bothers me is, he did NOT bow to the Queen of England. If he is going to bow to one member of a royal family he should bow to all! His lack of consistency in this matter I find deeply troubling. Even more troubling is the disdain he showed England for returning a bust of Churchill (given to the U.S. by Tony Blair after 9/11).

The big O appears to make choices in favor of ideological stands. Not too mention on almost every international stage he apologizes for the United States actions. That is very disturbing when one considers the positive impact we have had upon the globe for the last 150+ years. People who hate the U.S. will always hate the U.S. Who the President is, is irrelevant.

We are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression (BTW only in the U.S. was it great. Most of the rest of the world was clear long before we were. Roosevelt’s attempts at government controlling the economic issues prolonged the depression by at least a decade), and this administration is concentrating on a social agenda. If the Obama White House were working on fixing our most immediate problems, instead of pushing for health care reform and a climate bill, the conservative base would probably be much quieter in its objections. Of, course some pundits would complain (they always have) but, their voices would be negated by the general populace.

  9. Honestly whoever was going to be president wasn’t going to be very popular…that goes along w/ the job. To blame Obama for all the problems in this country is ridiculous by the same token so many people voted for Obama because they thought that if he were in office everything would be magically fixed…the world doesn’t work like that. Rather than bash Obama we should probably just let him do his job because even the biggest critics of Obama wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.

    • We could try to let him perform his job, but he doesn’t even do that! He spends most of his time “talking” to the American people…or at least trying to force them to accept something that they do not want! What kind of president is that? He has not accomplished ANYTHING that is noteworthy besides trying to force people to accept a socialistic healthcare! He is wanting to help people get jobs and lower the unemployment rate, but this healthcare he is pushing will only create more lazy people in the US who won’t bother getting their butts off their couches to go look for jobs. Why doesn’t he try giving incentives to companies to bring back their businesses to our country instead of moving them all to China? We will have more jobs that way!

    • Have you looked at the Chinese military build-up and growing popular nationalism lately? I for one would not want to destroy good political relations with the PRC right now, as your suggestion certainly would.

  10. Obama isn’t fixing anything Bush did. He’s taking everything bush did and making it worse. How long till we get our troops back again? I forgot… lets just throw money at people and call it a solution, so they’ll forget everything I’m ruining… like the constitution! BRILLIANT!

Name one thing he has “fixed” effectively.

    • I don’t understand what you mean? Healthcare is on the table, Gitmo will be closing and the economy is on the way back up. As for the troops, I think that may be a tougher fix than even he anticipated. But in all fairness, he has only had the job less than a year…What would you like him to have accomplished in that time? People always say that he has done nothing, but what precisely did you want accomplished?

    • healthcare will fix nothing. it only works when the country is a group. america is about the individual so that doesnt really solve any problems.

    • Ok, Meeko, fine. You can strike healthcare if that doesn’t work for you, I personally think if it gets passed right, we could be on our way to being better and not so much concern for the dollar. What about the answer to the rest of the question?

    • if obama could not handle the war he should not have said in a couple of months in office all troops will be home and the war will be over. really. my brother was directly sent to afghan. right after obama was elected and now the war is even worse than before. nothing he said he would do before his 100th day in office has been accomplished. im not a democrat and im not a republican. im also not saying McCain would do any better but atleast he didnt promise things to america that he knew could not be done.

to the healthcare part i wish that to be true and ppl could think about others than themselves but thats a far stretch.

    • That’s the problem with campaign promises in a highly polarised two-party system like the US currently has, though. Voters are too focused on “us versus them”, and so both candidates are essentially forced to promise the electorate what they would personally consider Heaven on Earth … it’s my considered opinion that if you want honesty and proper debate in American presidential elections, the very first step would have to be to throw out the entire current political system and rewrite the constitution from scratch. Of course, the American people as a whole would never accept such a suggestion, and in the current political climate whatever constitution would come out of it would almost inevitably be a worse compromise than the original, so it remains a utopic pipe dream …
