The Term ‘Oh Brother’ to Be Banned!

Looks like he was still thinking about dunking a basketball.
After President Obama’s shameful display of sexism, when he deliberately excluded women from his basketball games, Congress has taken matters into its own hands and introduced a series of bills as the first step to eliminating offense caused by blatant sexism. The first of these bills will outlaw the phrase ‘Oh Brother’, as having extremely sexist overtones. In its stead, the new term to be substituted for ‘Oh Brother’ will be ‘Oh Sibling’. This came to pass after a lengthy debate which resulted in exclusion of other noteworthy options such as ‘Oh for the love of God’ (this option was quickly shot down as it was deemed to be too offensive to atheists).
To assuage the tide of ill will from women across the World, President Obama forced himself to overcome his obvious sexism and play a round of golf with a Melody Barnes, his chief domestic policy adviser; however, in a chauvinistic slip, his golf foursome was comprised of two other men as well.
“I gotta say, I think this is bunk. Basically, the House of Representatives has a basketball game and they had wanted to play here at the White House court and we invited them.
“I don’t know if there are women who— were Members of Congress who play basketball on a regular basis. I don’t think there are. You know, I don’t think it sends any kind of message or signal whatsoever,” he said to Savannah Guthrie of NBC News
It is also suspected that President Obama picked Hillary Clinton as secretary of state simply because she tends to wear a pants suit and would fit in better with all the men.

Who the hell does he think he is righting bills to change the way anyone speaks. He should stop being such an idiot and deal with real problems.
You’re retarded.
Seriously you don’t actually think they writing and or changing any bills for this do you?
LMFAO Joanne.
Wtf mike. This soared high above your head buddy.
dude sarcasm.
Um well it is not him that is writing the bills…that would be the House of Reps….critisize the right branch please
The correct spelling here is ‘writing,’ and its not done by the President. Congress writes bills. More importantly, they are not serious about the bill, hence the term ’sarcasm.’ They are referring to accusations that President Obama is sexist, despite the fact that in his first year, he has appointed more women to his Cabinet and Cabinet-level positions than any president before him. Educate yourselves, people!
I love this site…seriously…take a lesson…
note to self…
laugh, repeat
Sarcasm + wit = dumbfounded reader
Mike, I am so glad you have an all-encompassing understanding of sarcasm. It is obvious that you really get what this site is all about. I hope you continue to base your political knowledge off of this entirely objective, informational source. You will be an intellectual giant among men one day.
Praise God for the gift of laughter! Some people should be forced to attend school before going on the internet
P.S. I apologise to any atheists who were offended by my praising God and would like to defend my blatent prejudice by saying that it is a quotation from a Blackadder the Second episode called Money XD
Dude, seriously? are you sure that you’ve joined the correct group of people? There is a Gullible Guild somewhere I think. You should check it out.
Wow, Mike you may have beat the sarcasm community at its own game, the double-sarcasm comment really got us…right?
You’re a typical American. You can’t spell right and then go on to insult someone. Try using spell check on your insults before you post them Mike.
Yes, it is sexist to exclude women from playing a friendly basket ball match. But for the love of god when does it stop? Will their reach a point where baa baa black sheep will be banned and replaced with noise of an unspecific animal with no distinct reference to the colour of the creature? Oh brother, some times things are taken to far. next thing they’ll have to say aperson instead of amen, calling a ship ‘she, or her’ will be in the drink, and we’ll all have to stop speaking for the irrational fear of possibly insulting others.
Yes sexism is bad, yes their is still inequality, but simple phrases are not the cause in truth they are barely a factor in this issue. The issue is the role models of society who both consciously and subconsciously demote women. wearing pants in deed, you’d think being of a culture once surrounded by racism he’d be a little more open when it comes to including others! i’d love to have a chat to him!
i would love to chat with him too and tell him how stupid he is for every little detail he is trying to ban or whatever… he needs to focus on the bigger issues… not a freakin basketball game with no women.. also women dont play basketball with men usually bc men are more rough players than women are.
Actually, I don’t know about the US, but here in the UK, Baa-Baa Black Sheep now has to be sang as “Baa-baa Wooly Sheep, have you any wool?” Madness.
That is censorship my friend… How American of us!
He’s not the one *writing* the bills. Spend some time in a 12th grade government class, then reread this.
Spend some time looking at the name of the author.

I hope the above commenters are being sarcastic… Otherwise, they should really check what site they’re reading articles from.
I love watching these articles soar right over some of these peoples’ heads.
@Rich. It is mildly amusing, isn’t it?
Do you mean I have been basing my entire daily news intake and basing my life after this site that is not telling me the truth? How can I go on????
