Ingenuity lands dentist in jail
A Massachusetts dentist has received a one-year jail sentence after being convicted of using paper clips to perform root canals.
Dr. Michael Clair, in a stroke of frugality, came up with the idea of using paper clips instead of steel posts to perform root canals. This resulted in a number his patients developing problems, which included infections.
More interestingly, one of the witnesses, James Kulild, a professor of endodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, testified that there are very few circumstances in which the use of a paper clip could be used during a dental procedure.
“Paper clips do not satisfy the requirements for posts, not only because they aren’t made of stainless steel but because their shape and consistency will not allow them to be functionally acceptable to use,” Kulild said. (Washington Post)
Presumably there are also very few circumstances in which white-out is an acceptable means of doing teeth whitening, and even fewer instances where reusing the water from a spit bucket is an acceptable way of having the patients rinse their mouths.

Since I cant use white out, can I use a silver sharpie to make a grill?
this is making my teeth hurt just thinking about it…
I wouldn’t call that ingenuity if it didn’t work. If it had worked and people complained then I would have been impressed.
Oucchhhh!!!! I was nervous about an upcoming rootcanal, but now I’m bloody terrified!!!
Presumably one can also use laundry bleach to whiten the teeth. It is bound to be more effective that white out.
aaaaaahhhhhh…eeeeeeeeyaaaa!
