Skechers to pay $40 million settlement
If you are one of those people who are still hugely fat despite buying one of those Skechers fitness shoes, then you’ll love to learn that Skechers has been found to have fibbed about how some of their shoes can help you lose weight and tone flabby buttocks.
The company will have to pony up $40 million to settle charges brought by the Federal Trade Commission. Additionally, consumers who bought the shoes will be eligible for a refund.
So, you not losing weight had nothing to do with the fact that the shoes never came out of the box, but because Skechers’ claim about their soft-soled shoes were found to be bogus. Thankfully, you didn’t waste any time putting them on and taking a walk or jog, or you would have felt even more stupid.

I *did* put mine on and walk in them. No weight loss. Could use the refund. Hmmm…
Anybody know how to submit claim?
maybe the problem is that they bought “one of those Skechers fitness shoes”. I’ve found, from personal experience, that two shoes work better than one. Maybe they should do a “recall” and mail the owners a disclaimer label – “two shoes must be worn at all times for stated results”. Although if you wore one shoe and hopped everywhere maybe you would lose weight?
This just in: Walking/Jogging/Running will make you lose weight!
Holy Fuck, huh?!
Only if energy output exceeds energy input
how do i get my refund, and when?
I love these shoes. I walk in them every day! I’m still a little overweight but they most definitely firmed up my backside. WTF?!!!
I had 3 pairs of these shoes that I got for gifts. My mom bought them for me because she felt the rocker shoes helped correct my posture and stopped me from dragging my heels when I walk. She said that since you can’t slouch when you walk because it puts you off balance I stood straighter when walked. So, I guess that they did what my mother bought them to do. However, I did not lose weight, so can I still get a refund?
