BP Should Change its Name to BS
British Petroleum (BP)—that’s right it didn’t always used to be ‘Beyond Petroleum’—and its partners keep failing to shut down the flow of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico. Every week we get a new solution which fails miserably. Not to mention the show they put on at the hearing at the Congress, where they each blamed the other for the disastrous explosion.
I*, the Sarcasmist, have come up with a solution for BP and its partners. Why not stop trying to block the flow with bull$#!%, and try something constructive.
For the love of God, the latest headline the Businessweek website is ‘BP May Attempt to Plug Oil Leak With Mud Next Week’.
I am surprised they didn’t try to fix the leak with a sombrero after the ‘top hat’ cover didn’t work.
*I’ve decided to write in the first person once-in-a-while. Might be more fun.

Ya know… actual bull $#!% might work better than mud.
I thought the using bull—- thing was the one part of this pseudo-article the author was *not* being sarcastic about!
Just FYI, mud = drilling fluid and/or kill mud. I’d suggest googlinf that before you comment.
That being said, BP should very well be renamed BS after the “top hat” and glorified straw solutions.
But, Chris, the mud is what you do FIRST, when drilling the well…. ie, long, long before it could start leaking like that. Almost all of the problem is, BP failed to follow basic safety standards from Day One, almost any of which would have mitigated the issue, if not fully prevent it from happening.
True, many do not know the term “mud”as it applies to the business of drilling nor probably the weight of barytes as it applies to the content of mud, but it is like Garland Robinette says in his last broadcast on the affair of the gulf, everyone needs to be educated first by us dumb coonasses so they all may understand what is truly at stake here (see Dory’s post on FB this week, the 17 minute video). Nice informed comment Chris
Theses douche-bags sound like their next move will be asking Tampax to plug it up. Idiots!
Now THERE is a constructive idea! lmao
an iPad would probably work better.
Tampax would be the best idea yet.
they would never ask tampax to plug it cus we all know that would cause nothing but trouble by actually plugging up the leak… and well, who wants the leak to stop, so many volunteers would be out of work
Thank god for sarcasm! lol
kudos :)
So bull$#!% isn’t what’s coming out of the well?
They just need to buy a million SHAMWOWs… That ought to clean the mess up.
You obviously know nothing about the oil patch…if you even know what I am refering to by that term. I am talking about drilling deep wells into the sea floor to produce oil that, unless you ride a bike, you crave.
Mud is used in different weights to counteract reservoir pressure so that the drill bit and drill pipe can continue their downward journey free from water or oil coming to the surface.
What BP has now is a well gone wild with “a clean hole” blowing oil to the surface with reservoir pressure unrestricted. In the old days and on land, it was called “a gusher”. Learn before you speak.
