And the white area outside the circles represents everything on this website
LOL Ouch!!!
Look everyone, it’s Simsa…on ‘this’ website.
This shouldn’t really be called the Sarcasmist if it’s neither witty, intelligent, nor funny.
Since it is none of these things, by it’s own definition of sarcasm, the Sarcasmist is not sarcastic at all.
But if you don’t like it, why did you come? To let the rest of know that it’s not as good as we think it is? And btw, your website is where? Post a link so we can all check it out and bash your posts.
I do believe this is wrong. Funny + Intelligent = Witty
I agree. However, wit also has an element of timing.
so you’re saying we need more circles …. yeh … more circles… hundreds of them!
Me thinks Alex is missing the point.
picture this, 3 triangles that are connected together by only 1 of each of their corners, you would have something that resembles a hazard symbol. it would be more efficient and make more sense, because in the venn diagram there are 3 overlapping spaces that aren’t used, they should be used or removed.
Sorry, that wouldn’t be a Venn Diagram. Venn Diagrams assume that all spaces denoted are filled. I think you’re thinking more along the lines of Boole, where all possibilities are accounted for, and occupied spaces are explicitly declared. Formal Logic, FTW.
Orillion, calling someone out for mistaking Venn for Boole is like calling someone out for being an asshole when you’re really just a pompous prick. Casual Logic, FTW.
…. don’t be judgemental Dustin – Everyone loves a pompous prick don’t they?
Funny + Intelligent ~ Droll?
I would replace ‘funny’ with something like ‘nihilistic’ or ‘jaded’.
don’t replace anything … we need more circles …. yeh … more circles… hundreds of them!
@simsa : The white part, that was sarcasm along with being rhetorical!!!
and you missed it
:D
if your witty and intelligent, why do you need the circles?
Nothing I’ve ever read on this website is sarcastic, and very little of it has been witty or intelligent. A very small amount has been funny, in a very childish way. The venn diagram is a pile of papp frankly and not even worth me commenting, but I’m bored while on the toilet
Sarcastic is a lot more than being Funny, Intelligent and Witty..
They should add a 4th circle and call it ”Me”
A fourth circle just completely disconnected from all the others? Agreed.
Look at the Venn Diagram, draw a circle around it, shade it in completely with red crayon, draw a square around that and shade it with green crayon, stand back 3 paces and look at the middle and memorise the colour, draw a circle around that make a mental note of the size, take that number and square it, add it too the colour you saw then ask yourself this question:
Why did I think that a 4th circle called ”Me” was sarcastic, witty, intelligent or funny?
The Answer to this question should be written on a postcard in orange crayon and placed inside a stamped addressed envelope and posted.
This diagram can be improvised.. there should be one more circle.. OBJECT OF SARCASM!!
sarcasm has to be directed towards someone… the person at the receiving end should understand the underlying sarcasm in order to make sure that there is no loss of sarcasm…. after all, it lies in the eyes of the victim.
What’s the use of sarcasm if one does not understand it!!!
What say?
Actually the best sarcasm is the one that the mark doesn’t understand, but everyone around him does; thus adding a new dimension of humiliation to the sarcasm.
