Oh, please I am soooo tired of every group jumping up and down cause someone did something “politically incorrect” (another phrase I cannot tolerate)..We have lost our sense of humor about ourselves…….. Sheesshh if Halloween costumes are now offensive, then Nixon, Kennedy, Marilyn, Elvis, Smurfs, every Disney Princess, Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jason, Mike Myers, modern day wiccan, Spiderman, Superman, Batman and the Devil himself would all have a case for court ……..

I was recently laid off from my job. I worked for a large manufacturing company, and they were told they would not rehire for a period of 1-2 years. It hasn’t even been six months and help has been re-hired. According to my sources within the company, most of these employees do NOT speak english as a first language, and most likely are illegals. The company has had history of hiring illegals, because I in fact knew more than a few. It’s a sad state that I was replaced with someone more cost-effective, regardless of the legal status.

When I am in Mexico, I sometimes eat ‘Negritos’ … does that make me racist? … even if I am in Mexico when I do it? But I try to speak espanol, so maybe that makes up for it… but there are plenty of stupid Americans in Mexico (who have lived there for years) who still can’t speak more than a sentence or two- enough to get a beer. And then there are the toutists who I often overhear saying, “Why don’t these people learn to speak English!” (I am speechless)
However, the kids in the neighborhood call me ‘Gringa’ – are they being racist, too?

To “Dmajor”…okay let’s say they DO pay their taxes, could they be bothered, after moving to this English speaking country, to learn more than 5 words of English, while they are here? I’m sorry, & this isn’t JUST about Mexicans…but if you going to move here, then learn the freakin language! If I moved to Italy, or Russia, or any of a 1,000 other places, I would if staying there for a good amount of time, be expected to learn their spoken/written language…would I not???
