Not All Recalls Are Made Equal

Written by The Sarcasmist on September 24, 2010 - Comments (3)

Bentley, the British luxury automobile manufacturer (currently owned by Volkswagen AG), has issued a recall for 820 of its ultra luxury vehicles due to a potential issue with the retractable hood ornament.

“It’s been discovered that in some cases, water ingress into the internal mechanism might prevent it from retracting,” said Bentley, which added that the firm was recalling 1,436 cars worldwide, including 620 in the US and Canada. (Guardian)

The main concern is that if a pedestrian is hit, the ornament may not retract as it is supposed to do and cause cuts to the head or other parts of the victims body.

Good for Bentley. After the fix if any of these Bentleys hit anyone the only injuries to the pedestrian would only be those caused by being struck by a block of metal weighing thousands of pounds.

  1. Haha. To the point!:D *lol*

  2. Wonder how they discovered that one.

  3. Huzzah for blunt force trauma.

It just wouldn’t do for some pedestrian to, perhaps, bleed all over the expensive custom paint job. That might cause damage.
